May we introduce: the new generation of HA Schult's iconic Trash People. The new Reiling Representatives were created by the performance artist in the workshops of Peters Studios glass painting. Made from our diverse recyclable materials, such as recycled glass, photovoltaic modules, PET and waste wood, they represent the business areas of our recycling company.
Each figure embodies the beauty of transformation. It stands not only for artistic expression, but also for a conscious commitment to sustainability – by creating something new and beautiful from discarded materials. Our goal is to encourage people to rethink and inspire them, especially in the areas of environmental protection and sustainability.
The artist HA Schult (86) has become known worldwide for his object and action art. One of his most famous works is the so-called ‘Trash People’ – figures formed from rubbish – with which he has been drawing attention to the littering of our planet for years.
He has already created over 1,000 of these unique objects and presented them all over the world. His works have been displayed in some of the most impressive locations on earth, including in front of the pyramids of Egypt, on the Great Wall of China, at Cologne Cathedral, in the Arctic, and in numerous countries and renowned museums worldwide.
When artist HA Schult visited us in Marienfeld in spring 2023, he was impressed by our recycling process and our mountains of waste glass. Inspired by this, he decided to create the ‘People of Glass’ series. This year, the collaboration continued with further sculptures made from our other recycled materials.
These unique works of art now adorn not only our headquarters in Marienfeld, but can also be found in Bönen and Münster. In addition to the four People of Glass, sculptures made from waste wood, photovoltaic modules and PET bottles now complete the Reiling collection.
