Privacy
The following notes provide a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit our website. Personal data is any data that can be used to identify you personally.
Data protection information
Introduction
As the operator of these pages, we take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this data protection notice.
When you use this website, various personal data is collected. Personal data is data that can be used to identify you personally. This data protection notice explains what data we collect and what we use it for. It also explains how and for what purpose this is done.
In the following text, we will occasionally refer to parts of laws and then abbreviate them for better readability. You will find:
- GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation - binding law in all member states of the European Union).
- TDDDG (Telekommunikation-Digitale-Dienste-Datenschutz-Gesetz - German law for the protection of privacy in telecommunications and telemedia as a national implementation of Directive 2002/58/EC of the European Parliament).
We would like to point out that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. when communicating by email) may be subject to security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
Explanations in connection with our website
Who is responsible for data collection and processing on this website?
The data processing on this website is carried out by Reiling GmbH & Co. We are the so-called "controller":
Reiling GmbH & Co. KG
Bussemasstraße 49
33428 Marienfeld Deutschland
Phone: +49 5247 98030
E-mail: datenschutzbeauftragter [at] reiling.de (info[at]reiling[dot]de)
(The controller is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data).
How do we collect your data?
On the one hand, your data is collected when you provide it to us. This may, for example, be data that you enter in a contact form. On the other hand, data is automatically collected by our IT systems when you visit our website. This is primarily technical data (e.g. internet browser, operating system or time of page view). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter this website. Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent (see also: What rights do you have regarding your data?).
What do we do with the information we collect during your visit to our web site?
We collect some of the data in order to ensure the error-free provision of the website. Other data may be used by us to analyse your use of our website. You can find out which data is analysed in particular under the heading "Analysis programs".
On what legal basis do we process your data?
If you have consented to the processing of your personal data, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a (GDPR) or on the basis of Art. 9 para. 2 lit. a (GDPR), insofar as special categories of personal data pursuant to Art. 9 para. 1 (GDPR) are concerned. In the event of express consent to the transfer of personal data to third countries, data processing is also carried out on the basis of Art. 49 para. 1 lit. a (GDPR). If you have consented to the storage of cookies or access to information in your end device (e.g. via device fingerprinting), the data processing is also carried out on the basis of Section 25 (1) (TDDDG). If your data is required to fulfil the contract or to carry out pre-contractual measures, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b (GDPR). Furthermore, we process your data if this is necessary to fulfil a legal obligation on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c (GDPR). Data processing may also be carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f (GDPR).
Who is the recipient of your personal data?
As part of our business activities, we work together with various external bodies. In some cases, it is also necessary to transfer personal data to these external bodies. We only pass on personal data to external bodies if this is necessary for the fulfilment of a contract, if we are legally obliged to do so (e.g. passing on data to tax authorities), if we have a legitimate interest in the transfer in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f (GDPR) or if another legal basis permits the transfer of data. When using processors, we only pass on personal data on the basis of a valid contract for order processing (data processing agreement). In the case of joint processing, a joint processing agreement is concluded.
In certain cases, your personal data may be transferred to a country outside the scope of the GDPR. For example, if data is transferred to the USA, we make sure that the responsible companies are certified in accordance with the "EU-US Data Privacy Framework" (DPF). The DPF is an agreement between the European Union and the USA that is intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards for data processing in the USA.
On 10.07.2023, the European Commission adopted the adequacy decision for the EU-U.S Data Privacy Framework 2.0 adopted and thus attested this framework an adequate level of protection.
Every DPF-certified company undertakes to comply with these data protection standards. You can find further information on this under the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/list
We go one step further and base the transfer of data to the USA, if a company is not certified, or to other third countries on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details (here using the example of "Google") can be found here:
https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks

You have the right to receive information about the origin, recipient and purpose of your processed and stored personal data free of charge at any time.
Right to rectification and/or erasure
You also have the right to request the correction and/or deletion of this data.

If you have given your consent to data processing, you can revoke this consent at any time for the future; you can access the cookie settings here. The legality of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation. You can also prevent the storage of cookies from the outset by setting your browser software accordingly. However, if you configure your browser to reject all cookies, this may limit the functionality of this and other websites. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google by not giving your consent to the setting of the cookie or by downloading and installing the browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics.

IF THE DATA PROCESSING IS BASED ON ART. 6 ABS. 1 LIT. E OR F (GDPR), YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA AT ANY TIME ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA CONCERNED UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENSE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION UNDER ART. 21 ABS. 1 (GDPR)).
IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA ARE PROCESSED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUCH MARKETING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING TO THE EXTENT THAT IT IS RELATED TO SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. Right to restrict processing
You also have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data under certain circumstances. The right to restriction of processing exists in special cases:
- If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us. In this case, we generally need time to verify this. You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data for the duration of the review.
- If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful. In this case, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of erasure.
- If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it for the exercise, defense or assertion of legal claims. In this case, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of erasure.
- If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21 para. 1 (GDPR), a balance must be struck between your interests and ours. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
- If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data - apart from its storage - may only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or of a Member State.
Right to data portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only take place if it is technically feasible.
You can assert your aforementioned rights against us by contacting our data protection officer, in particular by e-mail datenschutzbeauftragter [at] reiling.de (datenschutzbeauftragter[at]reiling[dot]de) or via the contact details given above.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority responsible for you in the event of violations of the GDPR. However, you are welcome to contact us beforehand so that we have the opportunity to correct any infringements. You are welcome to contact us about data protection, you can find the address here: "Who is responsible for data collection and processing on this website" and "Is there a specialist for data protection?".
Is there a specialist for data protection?
We have appointed a data protection officer:

33428 Marienfeld Germany
Phone: +49 5247 98030
E-mail: datenschutzbeauftragter [at] reiling.de (datenschutzbeauftragter[at]reiling[dot]de)
Which analysis tools and third-party tools are used?
When you visit this website, your surfing behaviour may be statistically evaluated. This is mainly done with so-called analysis programs. Detailed information on these programs can be found in the following text under "Analysis programs".
How is the transmission of data protected?
Our website uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or inquiries that you send to us as the site operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from:
"http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Hosting
We host the content of our website with the provider Mittwald (Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG, Königsberger Straße 4-6, 32339 Espelkamp, Germany (hereinafter referred to as Mittwald)), which is the recipient of the data you leave behind when you visit our website. Mittwald processes your data on the basis of a data processing agreement that we have concluded with Mittwald.
We have a legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) in the most reliable presentation of our website and have commissioned Mittwald to host it for this purpose.
If a corresponding consent has been requested, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and § 25 para. 1 TDDGG, insofar as the consent includes the storage of cookies or access to information in your end device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TDDDG. Consent can be revoked at any time.
Details can be found in Mittwald's privacy policy: https://www.mittwald.de/datenschutz.
How long will my personal data be stored?
Unless a more specific storage period has been specified in this data protection notice, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for data processing no longer applies. If you assert a justified request for deletion or revoke your consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. retention periods under tax or commercial law); in the latter case, the deletion will take place after these reasons no longer apply.
Analysis programs
Our Internet pages use so-called "cookies". Cookies are small data packets and do not cause any damage to your end device. They are stored on your device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them yourself or they are automatically deleted by your web browser.
Cookies may originate from us (first-party cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services from third-party companies within websites (e.g. cookies for processing payment services).
Cookies have various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies can be used to evaluate user behaviour or for advertising purposes.
Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process, to provide certain functions that you have requested (e.g. for the shopping cart function) or to optimize the website (e.g. cookies to measure the web audience) (necessary cookies) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f (GDPR), unless another legal basis is specified. As the website operator, we have a legitimate interest in the storage of necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of our services. If consent to the storage of cookies and comparable recognition technologies has been requested, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a (GDPR) and §25 para. 1 (TDDDG)).
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be restricted.
We explain which cookies and services we use on our website in the following text.
Cookie bot
Our website uses cookie bot’s consent technology to obtain your consent to the storage of certain cookies on your end device or to the use of certain technologies and to document this in accordance with data protection regulations. The provider of this technology is Cybot A/S, Havnegade 39, 1058 Copenhagen, Denmark (hereinafter "cookie bot").
When you enter our website, a connection is established to the cookie bot servers in order to obtain your consent and other declarations regarding the use of cookies. Cookie bot then stores a cookie in your browser in order to be able to assign the consents you have given or revoke them. The data collected in this way is stored until you ask us to delete it, delete the cookie bot cookie yourself or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Mandatory statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.
Cookie bot is used to obtain the legally required consent for the use of cookies. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR.
Google Tag Manager
We use the Google Tag Manager. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The company is certified in accordance with the "EU-US Data Privacy Framework" (DPF).
Google Tag Manager is a tool that enables us to integrate tracking or statistical tools and other technologies on our website. The Google Tag Manager itself does not create any user profiles, does not store any cookies and does not carry out any independent analyses. It is only used to manage and display the tools integrated via it. However, Google Tag Manager records your IP address, which may also be transmitted to Google's parent company in the United States.
The Google Tag Manager is used on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f (GDPR) as we have a legitimate interest in the fast and uncomplicated integration and management of various tools on our website.
By integrating the Google Tag Manager, we pursue the purpose of being able to integrate various services in a simplified, clear and automatically updated manner. This enables us to provide you with a constantly updated overview of the integrated services for your informed consent. In addition, the integration of the Google Tag Manager optimizes the loading times of the various services.
The purpose of processing the data collected in the course of the declaration of consent is to record your consent.
The legal basis for the processing of data that is processed in the context of obtaining consent is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in being able to prove the consent you have given (Art. 7 para. 1 GDPR).
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 on our website, a web analysis service of Google LLC (Google Ireland Limited, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google")).
The legal basis for this data processing is your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a (GDPR) and § 25 para. 1 sentence 1 (TDDDG).
Google Analytics uses cookies to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information collected by the cookies about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google LLC is certified according to the "EU-US Privacy Framework" (DPF). Since Google servers are distributed worldwide and a transfer to third countries (for example to Singapore) cannot be completely ruled out, we have also concluded the EU standard contractual clauses with the provider.
In Google Analytics 4, the anonymization of IP addresses is activated by default. Due to IP anonymization, your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. According to Google, the IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
Recipients of the data are/may be:
- Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (as processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR)
- Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA
- Alphabet Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA
During your website visit, your user behaviour is recorded in the form of "events". Events can be:
- Page views
- First visit to the website
- Start of the session
- Visited websites
- Your "click path", interaction with the website
- scrolls (whenever a user scrolls to the end of the page (90%))
- clicks on external links
- Internal search queries
- Interaction with videos
- File downloads
- Viewed / clicked ads
- Language setting
Also recorded:
- Your approximate location (region)
- Date and time of the visit
- Your IP address (in abbreviated form)
- Technical information about your browser and the devices you use (e.g. language setting, screen resolution)
- Your Internet provider
- The referrer URL (via which website/advertising medium you came to our website)
Google will use your pseudonymised data on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website and to compile reports on website activity. The reports provided by Google Analytics are used to analyse the performance of our website.
The data sent by us and linked to cookies is automatically deleted after 14 months. The maximum lifespan of Google Analytics cookies is 2 years. Data whose retention period has been reached is automatically deleted once a month.
You can find more information on the terms of use of Google Analytics, data protection and the handling of user data at Google at: https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/terms/de/ and at https://policies.google.com/?hl=de and at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.
You can prevent the collection and processing of your data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link or by revoking your consent via Cookie bot.
Google signals
We use Google signals. When you visit our website, Google Analytics records your location, search history and YouTube history as well as demographic data (visitor data), among other things. This data can be used for personalised advertising with the help of Google Signal. If you have a Google account, the visitor data from Google Signal is linked to your Google account and used for personalised advertising messages. The data is also used to compile anonymous statistics on the user behaviour of our users.
The use of this service is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a (GDPR) and § 25 para. 1 (TDDDG).
Google Ads
We use Google Ads. Google Ads is an online advertising program of Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
The company is certified in accordance with the "EU-US Data Privacy Framework" (DPF).
The use of this service is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a (GDPR) and § 25 para. 1 (TDDDG).
Google Ads enables us to display advertisements in the Google search engine or on third-party websites when the user enters certain search terms on Google (keyword targeting). Furthermore, targeted advertisements can be displayed based on the user data available at Google (e.g. location data and interests) (target group targeting). As the website operator, we can evaluate this data quantitatively, for example by analysing which search terms led to the display of our advertisements and how many advertisements led to corresponding clicks.
You Tube
Our website integrates videos from the website "YouTube". The operator of the "You Tube" website is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
The company is certified in accordance with the "EU-US Data Privacy Framework" (DPF).
The use of YouTube is in the interest of an appealing presentation of our website. If a corresponding consent has been requested, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a (GDPR) and § 25 para. 1 (TDDDG), insofar as the consent includes the storage of cookies or access to information in the user's terminal device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TDDDG. Consent can be revoked at any time.
When you visit one of our websites on which YouTube is integrated, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This tells the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited.
Furthermore, YouTube may store various cookies on your device or use comparable technologies to recognise you (e.g. device fingerprinting). In this way, YouTube can obtain information about visitors to this website. This information is used, among other things, to record video statistics, improve user-friendliness and prevent fraud attempts.
If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
Further information on the handling of user data can be found in YouTube's privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.
Server log files
We automatically collect and store information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
- Browser type and browser version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Host name of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
- IP address
We do not merge this data with other data sources.
This data is collected based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f (GDPR), as we have a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimization of our website. To do this, we need to record the server log files.
The server log files are deleted after 60 days at the latest. The recipient of the data is our host Mittwald (see above)
Contact us
If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.
This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR if your request is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) if this has been requested; consent can be revoked at any time.
We will retain the data you provide on the contact form until you request its deletion, revoke your consent for its storage, or the purpose for its storage no longer pertains (e.g. after fulfilling your request). Mandatory statutory provisions - in particular retention periods - remain unaffected.
Request by e-mail, telephone or fax
If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or fax, we will store and process your inquiry, including all personal data (name, inquiry), for the purpose of processing your request. We will not pass on this data without your consent.
This data is processed based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR if your request is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures.
The data you send to us via contact requests will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions - in particular statutory retention periods - remain unaffected.
Applicant data
We offer you the opportunity to apply to us (e.g. by post or via the online application form). We assure you that your data will be collected, processed and used in accordance with applicable data protection law and all other statutory provisions and that your data will be treated in strict confidence.
If you send us an application, we process your associated personal data (e.g. contact and communication data, application documents, notes taken during job interviews, etc.) insofar as this is necessary to decide on the establishment of an employment relationship. The legal basis for this is § 26 BDSG under German law (initiation of an employment relationship), Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (general contract initiation) and - if you have given your consent - Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. Consent can be revoked at any time. Your personal data will only be passed on within our company to persons who are involved in processing your application.
If the application is successful, the data submitted by you will be stored in our data processing systems on the basis of § 26 BDSG and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR for the purpose of implementing the employment relationship.
If we are unable to make you a job offer, you reject a job offer or withdraw your application, we reserve the right to retain the data you have submitted on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) for up to 6 months from the end of the application process (rejection or withdrawal of the application).
The data will then be deleted and the physical application documents destroyed. The retention serves in particular as evidence in the event of a legal dispute. If it is evident that the data will be required after the 6-month period has expired (e.g. due to an impending or pending legal dispute), the data will only be deleted when the purpose for further storage no longer applies.
Data may also be stored for longer if you have given your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) or if statutory retention obligations prevent deletion.
Social networks & external links
In addition to this website, we also maintain presences in various social media, which you can access via corresponding buttons on our website. If you visit such a presence, personal data may be transmitted to the provider of the social network.
We would like to point out that user data may also be transmitted to a server in a third country and thus processed outside the European Union.
It is possible that, in addition to storing the specific data you have entered in this social medium, further information may also be processed by the provider of the social network.
In addition, the provider of the social network may process the most important data of the computer system from which you visit it - for example, your IP address, the processor type and browser version used, including plug-ins.
If you are logged in with your personal user account of the respective network while visiting such a website, this network can assign the visit to this account.
The purpose and scope of the data collection by the respective medium and the further processing of your data there, as well as your rights in this regard, can be found in the respective provisions of the respective controller, e.g. at:
