With our new environmental policy, we are committing ourselves to achieving specific goals in terms of environmental protection.

In 2015, the United Nations adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The five guiding principles of the SDGs are:

  • Putting people first
  • Enabling prosperity
  • Preserving our planet
  • Promoting peace
  • Strengthening partnerships

They serve as a global guideline for fair, healthy and sustainable development, which is to be achieved by 2030.

 

 

 

 

 

United Nations SDGs 12 + 13

Sustainability is an integral part of our daily work at Reiling.

By recycling waste glass, wood, PET and photovoltaic modules, we are making an active contribution to environmental and climate protection. In doing so, we are not only supporting key initiatives such as the EU Green Deal and the Paris Climate Agreement, but also making a targeted contribution to the implementation of the United Nations' global sustainability goals – in particular SDG 13: Climate action.

With efficient recycling processes, the recovery of valuable raw materials and the consistent promotion of a functioning circular economy, we help to conserve natural resources, reduce waste and strengthen sustainable production patterns. In this way, we are actively committed to SDG 12: Sustainable consumption and production.

In addition, we are continuously committed to further improving our environmental performance. That is why we have adopted a new environmental policy and committed ourselves to specific goals:

  • Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions according to Scope 1 and 2
  • Continuous monitoring of water consumption at all our production sites and investment in efficient water recycling processes
  • Switch to renewable energies: By 2030, we want to replace 80% of our electricity consumption, which was previously generated from fossil fuels, with renewable energy sources
  • Electrification of our vehicle fleet: By 2030, at least half of our vehicle fleet should be electrically powered
  • Electricity savings through LED technology: By replacing existing lighting systems, we are aiming for annual savings of 400,000 kWh
