WITH EFFECT FROM 1 SEPTEMBER 2021, THE REILING GROUP (MARIENFELD) IS TAKING OVER THE SHARES IN SCHAUMGLAS HUSUM GMBH IN HUSUM (NEAR NIENBURG) AND VERISO GMBH IN BERLIN. THE TWO COMPANIES JOINTLY PRODUCE AND DISTRIBUTE HIGH-QUALITY FOAM GLASS GRAVEL, WHICH IS SUPPLIED AS A BUILDING MATERIAL TO THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY. REILING HAS BEEN SUPPLYING THE PLANT IN HUSUM WITH CULLET NEEDED FOR PRODUCTION FOR MANY YEARS.
Due to the existing business relationship with Reiling, the sale of the company shares to Reiling was also my first choice, and we were able to agree on the key data quickly and without complications. I made the decision to sell the shares because there was no successor in sight within the family, explains Dr Jürgen Achilles, owner of Veriso GmbH. Veriso GmbH in turn holds shares in Schaumglas Husum GmbH, whose remaining shares were owned by Joachim Henne and will also be transferred to Reiling.
Mr Henne agreed to the sale, as only the sale of both companies would make sense for a buyer. We are very pleased that all employees can find themselves under the umbrella of the family-run company Reiling, add Mr Achilles and Mr Henne.
The market for foam glass is currently in a state of flux. In several places in Europe, companies are being established that produce this innovative building material from waste glass. The security of supply with cullet is always an important aspect. Foam glass is used as load-bearing perimeter insulation but also in road construction. Other areas of application can be found wherever weight has to be saved in static areas, such as on roof surfaces. Foam glass is very light and at the same time highly pressure-resistant and non-combustible. A recycled material that is 100% recyclable again.
Marc Uphoff, Managing Director at Reiling as well as the two newly acquired companies, is pleased about the new business division within the group. "Foam glass perfectly complements our orientation. We are now part of this growth market and can operate along the entire value chain."
