At a joint site visit, managing director Bernhard Reiling was able to present the new location of Reiling Kunststoff Recycling GmbH & Co. KG in Burgbernheim. This means that the business unit "Recycling of Plastics" now has three locations, Bernhard Reiling explained during the presentation of the new recycling plant.
The construction of the production hall was already completed in April 2020, with a focus on sustainable building within the project. The buildings are heated by the company's own combined heat and power unit (CHP) and a photovoltaic system with almost 590 kWp ensures efficient energy conversion. In the meantime, a PET processing plant has also been built, which can process up to 60,000 tonnes of bottles annually. Furthermore, the new location is used as a logistics base for the recycling of solar panels of the Reiling Group. The company invests in modern technology and sustainable processes to ensure efficient operations and environmental protection. The company location will create a total of about 40 jobs in the region. Due to the new EU packaging directive, an additional volume of collected bottle waste of around 500,000 tonnes per year is expected in Europe, as company boss and bvse President Bernhard Reiling emphasised. Reiling Kunststoff Recycling can thus make an important contribution to ensuring that these quantities are recycled professionally and do not have to be taken away to waste incineration or substitute fuel plants.
